Lou Espindola
NLPOA Maricopa, Arizona Chapter
2006 Lifetime Membership Recipient
In 1980, Lou Espindola was on of the original founders of the Brotherhood of Mexican American Police Officers of Phoenix, Arizona. Later, Lou along with the other members decided to become part of the National Latino Peace Officer's Association. Being part of N.L.P.O.A. gave the Phoenix Latino Officer's “National Voice” which helped Lou resolve many disputes between Latino Officer's and police agencies. Unlike California, Arizona doesn't have police unions to represent their officer's, which makes N.L.P.O.A. a very important part of the Latino Community. Lou has served as a Chapter President, a State President, and as the National Vice President from 1998 -2000.
