Chili Cook Off and Salsa Tasting Event, October 5th 2002.

What can we say but, "What an Awesome Day"! Our first annual Chili Cook Off and Salsa Testing Event was held on Saturday, October 5th  and as our President (Tom Barcelo) stated, it was a major success. Close to 200 people attended including 6 Cook Off teams, radio station Hot 92 Jamz, and of course most of you! Did everyone get a taste of the Swamp Chili Crew's Frog Leg Chili ??? They were actually hoping to win the Most Disgusting prize. What a fantastic show of teamwork we experienced that day just about every current member, of our chapter, was there and helped in some way. About the only complaint we heard was that the park was hard to find. This is probably because the park is technically, private property. We were very blessed to have so many generous sponsors and are in the process of sending thank you letters to all of them. See you next year, Helen Parra.
