TITLE: PEACE OFFICERS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA (PORAC) PLEDGES A GIFT OF $300,000 TO THE NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT MUSEUM
WASHINGTON — Since the early 90's, the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) has been a friend and supporter of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF). In June 2004, Ron Cottingham, President of PORAC, invited the NLEOMF to speak at an Executive Board Meeting with the goal of inspiring PORAC executives to learn more about and ultimately support A Matter of Honor: The Campaign to Build the National Law Enforcement Museum.

After speaking at two board meetings and the Annual PORAC Conference, PORAC's Board and Membership decided to pledge a gift of $300,000 to the National Law Enforcement Museum. The gift was received before March 31, 2005, making PORAC a Founding Partner of the Museum.

PORAC is a professional federation of local, state and federal law enforcement associations. With more than 705 member organizations, representing over 57,000 officers, PORAC is not only one of the largest law enforcement associations in the west, but one of the largest in the nation. Formed in 1953, PORAC's main objective is to further the welfare of law enforcement on an economic, professional and social level. To learn more about PORAC, please visit www.porac.org
