National Latino Peace Officers Association


Alberto Perez, Sacramento Chapter President (Right) was presented with a plaque,
by Jose Miramontes, California State President, in apparition for his years of
hard work and dedication to the Association.

The meeting opened with Dwight "Spike" Helmick, Commissioner of the
California Highway Patrol, addressing the delegates from California. The
Commissioner has always been a friend of N.L.P.O.A. and has worked closely with
the Association to achieve its goals.

Sally A. Costa, Executive Secretary; Lorenzo Provencia, Parliamentarian;
and
Gordon Clasuen, Southern Vice President.

Chuck Arellano, Stockton Chapter President, Bill Lockyer, California Attorney
General, and Andrew Cruz, Past National President.
The keynote speaker was Attorney General Bill Locker. Mr. Locker spoke in favor of many Latino issues, important to the Association.
Bill Jones, California Secretary of State closed the meeting, speaking on the import ants
of maintaining the "three strikes" law.

Andrew Cruz, Past National President and current Webmaster received a
"standing ovation" from the California Delicates and a hand carved
wooden plaque in appreciation for his years of commitment to the Association and
for the hundreds of hours spent in the development and operation of the
Association's Web Sight.

Ramon Santos (Left) received a plaque for his long term support and sponsorship
of the Sacramento Chapter.
Hospitality Night

The Sacramento Chapter hosted the hospitality room, the night before the
meeting, in a large suite at the Holiday Inn. The event was catered and everyone
had a good time.
